Barry Cowan dropped in on the MCC Digital study centre during the morning rain delay to chat with school children from across Widnes and Runcorn.
The children wasted no time in using their Apple Macintosh computers to take photos of former British Davis Cup player Cowan and distort his image in all sorts of funny ways before challenging him to a game on the interactive dance mat.
"The dance mat was incredible fun," said Barry, who now commentates for Sky Sports. "I was jumping around trying to keep up with the music, but the young girl I played against had far better rhythm and scored far more points."
The children from St Peter & Paul Catholic College, Wade Decon in Widnes and Alton High and The Heath in Runcorn, completed a multi-media project on Apple laptops using pictures and video they had taken at the Tradition ICAP Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.
