Britain's 15-year-old junior Wimbledon champion Laura Robson will make her debut appearance at the Tradition ICAP Liverpool International Tennis Tournament next week as she prepares for her wild-card entry to Wimbledon.
Robson will be the youngest player to appear in the senior event at Wimbledon since Martina Hingis in 1995 and will join fellow Liverpool competitor Michelle Larcher De Brito who was also handed a wild-card for SW18.
Laura will take to the Calderstones Park centre court in a pro-am event on Tuesday before competing in the WTA players' event, a perfect warm-up for the Championships which start a week later.
Tournament Director Anders Borg announced Laura's inclusion in the WTA players' event at a press conference at Calderstones Park; "We are delighted to welcome Laura to Liverpool and are incredibly excited that both Laura and Michelle have been given wild-cards to compete at Wimbledon.
"Our tournament is as much about bringing on young talent as it is about the world stars and legends, so to have the British Wimbledon Junior Champion here is fantastic."
