new venueThe 2014 Liverpool International Tennis Tournament is brought to you in association with our title sponsor Liverpool Hope University. We proudly announced our new venue in March which is the 207-year-old Liverpool Cricket Club in Aigburth, Liverpool. The club was chosen to host the tennis competition as a warm-up for Wimbledon.

The venue’s last tennis competition took place over 60 years after the Wimbledon legend Lottie Dod appeared there in 1892. In the 1950s, the world’s leading stars Lew Hoad, Ken Rosewall and Pancho Gonzalez played an exhibition on a court constructed in front of the pavilion.

A court will be laid in the same spot this summer, although side on to the pavilion this time. Tournament Director Anders said, “In partnership with Liverpool City Council and Glendales I’m sure we can deliver a playing surface as good as the one at Calderstones Park – which incidentally was compared by one of the players last year to the Queen’s Club in London.”

The tournament has attracted legends such as John McEnroe, Greg Rusedski and Martina Navratilova in previous years.

Players will compete in a 2000 seater purpose built stadium from June 19 to 22. The key information about this years tournament can be accessed here:
